Water You Up To? 💧 woven by Tyler Glasses
A playful homage to water, this weaving traces its journey through the land. Snow-capped mountains and clouds at the top give way to indigo streams of spring runoff. In the middle, wedge weave techniques shape canyons and washes that carry water forward. At the base, the land becomes saturated, darkened earth marking where water has settled and transformed the soil.
This piece was an exploration into more pictorial storytelling than Tyler typically uses, making it both a creative stretch and a rewarding process.
Woven entirely with Navajo Churro wool. Neutrals are natural, undyed sheep tones, while the blues are created with varying shades of indigo. The three edge cords are also indigo-dyed Navajo Churro.
